Meet Angelica, Product Owner at Wisentic. With her extensive background in the insurance industry and technical expertise, she is shaping Wisentic's future products.
Angelica, what's your title and main responsibility at Wisentic?
I'm a Product Owner, which means I oversee the development and priorities of our Claims Automation and Insurance Automation products. I also handle compliance, serve as a board member, and manage key accounts for some of our clients.
You have a solid background in the insurance industry. Can you tell us about it?
Sure! I started my career at Skandia in Luleå, Sweden and later transferred to Sundsvall and further to Stockholm, where I was a Process Manager at Skandia Liv. After 15 years at Skandia I worked at Swedbank before joining Wisentic full-time in 2014.
I've always been interested in business development and technology, which often led me to positions in the intersection of technical aspects and generating business value.
How does your background help you in your current role at Wisentic?
It really helps understanding the customer value proposition better when it comes to technical interests. It also allows me to be a great requirement gatherer for customer requests and demands.
You've been with Wisentic for a while. Can you describe how the company has transformed over the years?
It's been quite a journey since I joined Belivia, which then became Wisentic in 2020. We've moved beyond the start-up phase and matured into an innovative company that prioritizes customer value, product development, sustainability, IT security, and new recruitments. And truly live up to our motto "Technology for future insurance".
The merger into Wisentic also fostered a new sense of unity and teamwork within our company, allowing us to collaborate more effectively toward our goals.
What are you most excited about in the future of the insurance industry?
There's a lot to look forward to! We're currently developing a platform that has the potential to dramatically reduce average case processing times for straight-through processes. I can't wait to see how this technology will impact different sectors and improve efficiency.
I'm also excited to see the effects of Open Insurance and how Wisentic can contribute to the industry adaption. As technology continues to evolve, I believe our expertise and innovative mindset will play an important role in shaping the industry's future. Sure is that we're always striving to form new and improved products that meet the changing needs of the industry.
